Course objectives
The aim of the seminar is to familiarise students with the development of the Czech feuilleton of the 19th and 20th centuries. Thanks to the course, students will learn to analyse the feuilletons written by important authors (for example Jan Neruda, Karel Čapek, Karel Poláček, Eduard Bass, Ludvík Vaculík or Rudolf Křesťan). At the end of the course students should be able to work with information on Czech feuilleton in journalist practice.

  • Analysis of the work of selected feuilletonists: life and work, feuilleton writing and inspiration for contemporary journalism.
