- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to analyse the dimension of environmental protection and public administration within the international and European regulation. The course focuses primarily on European Union law, including the case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union, but it also covers human rights protection under the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and other international contractual and customary law. Particular attention is paid to the requirements for the performance of public administration and the measurement of individual public interests in planning and decision-making processes, the principles of environmental protection and the interpretation of key concepts based on superior legal regulation.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course students should be able to understand the principles and principles of the EU environmental protection, to understand where and how they are applied at national level, to be able to find the necessary resources, to work with the case law of the Court of Justice and the ECtHR .

- Contractual and customary international law in environmental protection and public administration.
- Loyal cooperation and fulfilment of obligations under EU law in the field of public administration and environmental protection.
- Competences of the European Union and the Member States, application of the principles of subsidiarity and proportionality.
- Principles of the Union's environmental policy.
- Mechanisms of international and EU law enforcement.
- Activities of international courts and of the Court of Justice of the European Union in relation to environmental protection and public administration.
