Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The aim of the course is to make the students acquainted with some of the key classical works in the field of constitutional law as well as with some examples of the current works in progress or fresh pieces by leading academics. This way, the "academic literacy" of doctoral students will be enhanced.
Learning outcomes
The student will be: - acquainted with the key literature in the field; - able to understand current trends in constitutional law.
Syllabus
  • This course has different content every term. The syllabus of the course will be communicated in the first week of the semester (at latest), preferably on the basis of the students' input and preferences.
Teaching methods
reading (significant amounts of material), guided discussions, written work (position papers, mostly)
Assessment methods
Active participation in class discussion is required. After every seminar, students are informed whether their participation was regarded as 'active'. If not, they are asked to submit a short reaction paper, reflecting upon the topic of the given seminar.
