- Course objectives
- Within the frame of this subject students shall become acquainted with the concept of the Czech constitutional law and its relation to international law and to European law. Subsequently they bring out about the political system, its components and its links to the membership of the Czech Republic in the EU, about election of European Parliament and about European politics of important political parties. Further there are examined basic question of fundamental rights and freedom of individuals in terms of Czech Charter (1991), European Convention (1950) and Charter of fundamental rights of EU (2000) and possibilities of their protection provided by the Czech Constitutional Court, the European Court of Human Rights and the European Court of Justice.
- Syllabus
- The Czech constitutional law and its relation to international law and European law. The political system of the Czech Republic and political systems of member states of EU and the process of shaping up of the political system of EU (political system, its components, political parties on the state level and the EU level). Position of individual in circumstances in the unifying Europe (nationality and its regulation in international law and EU Law. Entrenching of fundamental rights and freedom in respect of Czech Charter (1991), European Convention (1950) and Charter of fundamental rights of EU (2000), mutual relations and European culture of human rights. Right to judicial protection in the Czech Republic and EU (the Czech Constitutional Court, the European Court of Human Rights and the European Court of Justice).
