Course objectives
The main aim of this course is to improve the knowledge of International Business law, to learn more about the special problems of International Business, about the European and American approach to selected issues. At the end of this course, students should be able to: read the case-law; analyze the case-law; work with the case-law;present the analysis of cases; write in Plain English; write legal memoranda.

  • 1. Types of Risks of International Transactions and their Prevention 2. CISG: The Main Risks of CISG and How to Avoid the Risks of CISG: Case Law (mirror rule, last shot rule, battle of forms, warranty, liability) 3. The Payment Methods of International Trade Transactions (Miscellaneous Methods of Financing): Open Account, Documentary Credit, Documentary Collection, Factoring, Forfeiting, Bank Guarantee, Currency Clause, Price Clause 4. Contracts for Carriage of Goods by Sea and Bills of Lading, Law of Transportation, Multi-Modal Transportation
