Course objectives
The aim of the course is to improve the knowledge acquired during previous studies of labour law and social security law and to provide the students with necessary consultations to elaborate the part of their dissertation thesis concerning social law aspects. Moreover, the aim of the course is to acquire such knowledge and understanding that will enable to complete the dissertation thesis with particular theoretical consequences from the point of view of social law in its entirety including, in particular, selected aspects of state social support, working conditions, social dialogue and social affairs.
Learning outcomes
After passing the course the students will have detailed knowledge of the issues necessary to further studies and research in the area of aiming of the dissertation thesis and will be able to: identify the issues of their dissertation thesis aiming at social law, identify the issues in their dissertation thesis relating to state social policy, determinate and describe current domestic and international trends in the area of aiming of the dissertation thesis, elaborate complete part of the dissertation thesis assessing social aspects in relation to the topic of the dissertation theses. elaborate complete part of the dissertation thesis dealing with the relation of labour law and/or social security law and the topic of the dissertation thesis.
Syllabus
  • Particular aiming of the course may differ according to the topic of the dissertation theses. That is why the content will be specified in the Individual Study Plan after the agreement between the supervisor and the student in the way that the content will lead to elaborate high-quality part of dissertation thesis relating to social law. The assessment will depend on the supervisor entering the evaluation. However, it is expected that the student will consult the subject matter with other experts representing the branches and areas concerned. The syllabi may include for instance: - the relation between the topic of the dissertation theses and labour law and/or social security law, application of fundamental principles of labour relations, guarantee working conditions, including the control of their observance, bargaining within the framework of the social dialogue, - the relation between the topic of the dissertation these and social security law (application of fundamental principles of social security law, impact it the area of social security, possible consequences of selected social risks).

Teaching methods
The fundamental teaching method is individual consultations with the supervisor and other worker of the department and the experts dealing with the branch of law concerning the aiming of the dissertation thesis.
Assessment methods
The evaluation is entered by the supervisor on the basis of fulfilment of a task stated in advance in the Individual Study Plan. It usually includes elaboration of a complete chapter of the dissertation theses dedicated to the researched issue from the point of view of both, public and private law.
