Syllabus
  • BASIC MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY - practice. Syllabus.
  • An obligatory part of each class is practising and testing of knowledge.
  • 1st week: Checking the level of starting knowledge. Terms denoting planes and positions of the human body. Directional terms.
  • 2nd week: Terms denoting fractures.
  • 3rd week: Terms describing wounds and injuries.
  • 4th week: Terms denoting fever. Revision I.
  • 5th week: Terms denoting colour.
  • 6th week: Terms denoting age.
  • 7th week: Terms denoting sex.
  • 8th week: Terms describing expressions of face. Restored pronunciation - examples. Revision II.
  • 9th week: Specimens of case histories, examples. Phrases relating to death.
  • 10th week: Borrowed verbs of Latin and Greek origin. Terms expressing place.
  • 11th week: Basic vocabulary of the pharmacopoeia, idiomatic constructions, subscription, forms of pharmaceutical preparations, groups of medicaments.
  • 12th week: Specimens of post mortem examinations, examples. Terms for various types of heartbeat. Revision III.
  • 13th week: Terms for various diagnoses and prognoses. Terms denoting inflammations and tumours.
  • 14th week: Terms for various therapies. Preparation for final test.
  • 15th week: Final written test. Acknowledgement of credits.

Assessment methods (in Czech)
Přítomnost ve cvičeních se bezpodmínečně vyžaduje, tolerují se maximálně dvě řádně omluvené absence; nejlépe je neúčast nahradit v nejbližším vhodném termínu.
Výuka je ukončena zápočtem (z) udělovaným na základě řádné docházky, aktivní účasti ve cvičeních a úspěšného vypracování klauzurního testu, zaměřeného převážně na slovotvorbu, částečně i jmennou flexi.
