- Course objectives
- The aim of the subject is to give to students basic images about onset and development of diseases by an unusual combination of pathology and pathophysiology approaches and knowledge. Due to this approach, the students will be able to understand necessity of both static and dynamic evaluations of the patient clinical state. This will give them a certainty during laboratory results evaluations and for further development of laboratory diagnostics.

- 16/9 External factors during diseases development. Introduction to pathophysiology of radiation. (Dr. Michal Masařík)
- 23/9 Pathology as a discipline, its statement in medicine, biopsy, autopsy. Cell damage, adaptation, cell stress, cell aging.
- 30/9 Patophysiology of malignant transformation. (Dr. Michal Masařík)
- 7/10 Inflammation: definition, systemic signs, classification, microscopic signs, cell compounds of exsudate, acute inflammation.
- 14/10 Pathophysiology as a science. Disease, healthy, normality. Onset and development of diseases.(Dr. Michal Jurajda)
- 21/10 Inflammation: chronic inflammation, sepsis, SIRS, proliferative and granulomatous inflammation.
