Course objectives
The aim of instruction of the course in the first semester is acquisition of the human body of knowledge on the structure of both passive and active locomotive apparatus. In the course of instruction, the students will get acquainted with the structure and functions of individual parts of the human skeleton; emphasis will be laid on the comprehension and practical utilisation of the knowledge about the structure of joints and basic mechanics of motion in articular junctions, as well as on the comprehension and practical utilisation of the knowledge about the structure of skeletal muscles and basic mechanics of the movement of groups of muscles and of individual muscles. The course of the second semester is aimed at making the students acquainted in detail with the function of the respiratory system; in the cardiovascular system it puts emphasis on detailed knowledge of the heart, while in case of arteries and veins the student should acquire the basic theoretical and practical body of knowledge regarding their branching and affluxes. In the lymphatic system, the student will acquire a comprehensive body of knowledge on the position of lymphatic nodes and their tributary areas. In the nervous system we focus on acquisition of detailed knowledge about the peripheral nerves in particular; in the instruction of CNS we presuppose only basic knowledge and survey of especially the motor regions and motor pathways of nerves.
