Course objectives
The aim of the course is to learn about the physiology, pathology of the patients of old age and their diseases, insufficiency of various systems and organs. Peculiarities of diseases in elderly, due to the functional diagnosis, insufficiency of motor system and its treatment due to therapeutic exercise and physiotherapy. The need of team cooperation, it means doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapist, a psychologist and others.

  • Age and diseases
  • Testing geriatric patient rehabilitation in geriatry
  • Surgical intervention in old age, preventive strategies in old age, impaired digestion and mobility
  • Nutrition and its disorders in older people, delirium, sleep disorders
  • Pain and aging ,tolerance and pain treatment
  • Decubity and their prevention
  • The most common disability cardiovascular system in old age - hypertension, ICHS, arythmia, coronary artery disease
  • Changes in the respiratory system in old age, clinical manifestations of respiratory diseases and their treatment in geriatry
  • The most common disability of digestive tract in old age and the possibility of treatment of clinical rehabilitation
  • Nephrology and urology issues older
  • Endocrinology and age
  • Diseases of the locomotor system in old age, their treatment using physical rehabilitation
  • Neurological diseases in older age (stroke, Parkinson syndrome, chronic neuropathies)
  • Hearing and vision disorders in old age
  • Skin disorders in old age
  • Demography of old age, health status of older population
