Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to:
1. Name all parts of the human skeleton including the detailed relief.
2. Describe correctly joints of the bones.
3. Describe the movements occurring at each joint.
4. Characterize the newborn skull.
5. Distinguish the male and female skull and pelvis.
6. Identify individual muscles of the human body, discuss their attachments and innervations.
7. Define actions of individual muscles and muscular groups.
8. Define the components of the major organ systems (digestive, respiratory, urinary, male and female genital)
9. Explain the morphology of the organs
10. Create apprehension about position and spatial relationships of particular organs and organ systems
Syllabus
  • 1. Skeleton of the spine and thorax (vertebrae, sacrum, coccyx, ribs, sternum).
  • 2. Skeleton of the upper and lower limb.
  • 3. Skull, newborn skull. Bones of the skull.
  • 4. Joints of the head, spine and thorax. Joints of the upper limb (glenohumeral and elbow joints). General arthrology (solid joints, synovial joints). Auxiliary apparatus of the joint. Shape and movements of the spine. Shape, structure and movements of the thorax.
  • 5. Joints of the upper and lower limbs.
  • 6. Muscles of the head, neck, thorax and abdomen (survey). Division of muscles according to the topography, groups and subgroups of muscles.
  • 7. Muscles of the head and neck. The oral cavity. Teeth, tongue, salivary glands, tonsils. Pharynx, oesophagus, stomach, small and large intestine.Teeth - eruptiom, exchange, formula, gingiva.
  • 8. Muscles of the abdomen. Liver, gallbladder, pancreas. Spleen. Peritoneum. Inguinal canal.
  • 9. Muscles of the thorax. Nasal cavity, larynx, bronchi, lungs, thymus, thyroid gland, parathyroid glands. Cricothyrotomy, tracheotomy. External nose, cartilages. Sinuses. Bronchial tree. Pulmonary segments. Projection of the lungs and pleura.
  • 10. Kidneys, renal pelvis, ureter, urinary bladder, testis, epididymis, ductus deferens, seminal vesicles, spermatic cord, penis, scrotum. Male pelvis. Nephron.
  • 11. Muscles and vessels of the back and limbs. Survey of regions of the back and limbs.
  • 12. Ovary, uterina tube, uterus, vagina. Female pelvis. Pelvic floor.
