- Course objectives
- Aim of the course in Nutrition psychiatry is familiar with different psychiatric diseases, the influence of nutrition on their origin, development and course of treatment. Students are familiar with the metabolism of u ~ anorexia nervosa and bulimia with serious physical consequences and complications of eating disorders.
- Syllabus
- Alzheimer's disease - high risk of malnutrition and deterioration of mental function. Prevent the development of malnutrition in institutionalized patients among patients in home care. Etiology of malnutrition in Alzheimer's disease. Methods realimentation of seniors specifics in Alzheimer's disease. Effect of enteral nutrition on nutritional and mental status of older people - a comparative study in patients with Alheimerovou disease and vascular dementia and its application in practice. Dementia and ethical aspects of nutritional therapy. Severe physical consequences for eating disorders. Metabolism in anorexia nervosa and bulimia. The most serious metabolic complications and methods realimentation. Severe malnutrition states and the resulting physical complications. The method of their treatment, including realimentation. Refeeding syndrome. The discrepancy between the clinical status and laboratory findings in severe malnutrition in eating disorders.
