Course objectives
The course provides basic knowledge of current concepts of special education and its role in the system of sciences, basic terminology, categories, methods and diagnosis in special education, integrative / inclusive education, legislation, curriculum for basic education, classification of individual faults and defects, etiology, overview of special schools and educational institutions, pedagogical and psychological counseling services.
Syllabus
  • 1st Special Education - terminology , objects , classification field , interdisciplinary relationships. Second integrative and inclusive education for pupils with special educational needs. Third Legislation, RVP for basic education. 4th   Family with a child with disabilities. 5th- psychological counseling system - a pedagogical-psychological counseling services in schools, counseling centers , educational and psychological counseling , special education centers, educational care centers. Sixth special education diagnostics - the concept , objects , methods, terminology. 7th Mental handicap - characteristics, according to the WHO classification , etiology , educational opportunities , pseudooligofrenia , dementia , Down's syndrome . 8th Autism - characteristics, etiology , educational opportunities. 9th Physical disability - characteristics, classification, etiology , treatment options, educational opportunities. 10th Cerebral palsy. 11th Visually impaired - characteristics, classification, etiology , treatment options, educational opportunities. 12th Communication with visually impaired people . 13th Hearing impairment - characteristics, classification, etiology , educational opportunities. 14th auditory prostheses, cochlear implant , communication with hearing impaired people . 15th Communication disorder - characteristics, classification, etiology , rehabilitation , educational opportunities. 16th augmentative and alternative communication - characteristics of individual systems and their use . 17th Specific Learning Disabilities - characteristics, classification, etiology , educational opportunities. 18th Behavioural disorders - characteristics, classification, remediation , facility . 19th therapies in special pedagogical care - hippotherapy , animal assisted therapy , music therapy, art therapy, occupational therapy , drama therapy .
