Course objectives
At the end of this course, students will be able to perform techniques of classical full-body and local massage for the areas of the back, abdomen, chest, neck, face, lower and upper limbs. Students should know the procedures for self-massage and sports massage. Students should be able to treat scars. Students should know and perform the basic procedures of thermotherapy, know its effects, indications and contraindications.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course the student can:
- use the procedures of classical massage, general and local
- apply self-massage, sports massage
- treat scars
- indications and contraindications of massage
- perform the basic procedures of thermotherapy, know its effects, indications and contraindications
Syllabus
  • 1/ Basic anatomical and physiological knowledge of classical massages, effects, indications and contraindications.
  • 2/ Classic massage of the lower limbs from the front
  • 3/ Classic massage of the lower limbs from behind
  • 4/ Classic back massage
  • 5/ Classic massage of the neck, head and upper limbs
  • 6/ Classic massage of the abdomen, chest, face
  • 7/Self-massage. Scar massage.
  • 8/ Sports massage
  • 9/ Thermotherapy - thermoregulation, effects of heat and cold on the body. Indications and contraindications.
  • 10/ Negative thermotherapy
  • 11/ Positive thermotherapy
  • 12/ Wraps and poultices
  • 13/ Sauna
  • 14/ Selection of thermotherapy procedures for individual diagnoses
