Course objectives
The main objectives of the course are identified in the cognitive, psychomotor and attitudinal. The subject is classified as a theoretical and practical with a superiority of practical activities in relation with nursing care. The tuition is situated in the skill labs where the clinical enviroment is simulated. There are used the modern approaches according the evidence based healthcare during the lectures. At the end of this course, students will be able to: - Understand basic nursing terminology - Understand the related literature - Identify the problems of the patient and on that basis to formulate nursing diagnosis (handle orientation in the field of nursing process) - Define the requirements for an effective and holistic health care. - To provide nursing care for people with immobilization bandage - Apply their knowledge in the preparation and assistance to specific examination (biopsy, endoscopy) - Implement activities based on acquired knowledge when submitting different forms of medication, injections, training and assistance infusion, transfusion - Implement the nursing process within the preoperative and postoperative care for patients - Implement the nursing process in the care of a patient with a stoma

  • - All forms of medicines - Injections - i.d., sc, i.m, i.v - Preparation and assistance during infusions, transfusion The nursing process within the preoperative and postoperative care The nursing process in the care of a patient with a stoma Preparing and assisting to specialized examination (biopsy, endoscopy) Nursing process in individuals with immobilization bandage
Teaching methods
- lecture - seminar group learning - RWCT (reading and writing for the critical thinking) - PBL - Problem based learning - group discussion - practical demonstration and examination in the model situations - group projects - EBN (evidence based nursing) - students could use e-leaarning supporting course (Basic nursing skills)
Assessment methods
Active participation in seminars (excused absence 1x / semester ie. 2 lessons). assessment - The exam consists of oral and practical parts, written test (75% success).
