Course objectives
At the end of these lectures collection a student will be able to define particular refractive errors including related problems. The student logically argues and explains geometrical and spectacle optics problems and anatomical and physiological knowledge.

At the end of these lectures collection a student will be able to define particular refractive errors including related problems. The student logically argues and explains geometrical and spectacle optics problems and anatomical and physiological knowledge.
Syllabus
  • Anisometropia: sight in anisometropia and its therapy
  • Aphakia: etiology and patology of the aphakia, optic characteristics and therapy
  • Anizeikonia: etiology, kinds and symptoms, examination and therapy
  • Refraction changes.
  • Physiologic changes, pathologic chnages: dynamic – after injuries, toxic –by glaucoma, inflammations, cataract and diabetes
  • Accomodation
  • Characteristics. Mechanism. Physical and physiologic accomodation- Limits and range of accomodation. Phenomena associated with accomodation and tiredness of accomodation. Pathologic sort sof accomodation
  • Convergence.
  • Anatomic and physiologic conditions of convergence. Volitive and reflectoric convergence. Relationship between accomodation and convergence.
  • Presbyopia. Characteristics of presbyopia. Changes of accomodation connected with age. Therapy – correction.
