- to introduce several drug groups building on the knowledge of general pharmacological principles. - Learning outcomes
- On completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- describe and explain general mechanisms of drug action and their processing in the organism,
- characterize different routes of drug administration,
- describe, what could influence an effect of a drug
- describe the process of research and development of a new therapeutic agent from the beginning to entering the clinical practice
- classify both therapeutic, and adverse or toxic effects of drugs
- characterize specific drug groups mentioned in the course syllabus with the emphasis on therapeutic and adverse effects and possible drug interactions - Syllabus
