Course objectives
Main aims of the course are:
- theoretical knowledge about the organization of psychiatric care
- symptoms of psychological disorders and psychoses
- overview of the specifics of the psychopharmacological treatment during pregnancy and lactation
Learning outcomes
After completion of the course the student will be able to:
- understand the organization and importance of psychiatric care in gynaecology and obstetrics;
- describe and recognize symptoms of the most common mental disorders;
- suggest modifications of nursing procedures in patients with psychiatric disorders;
- suggest a suitable nursing procedure to calm the agitated.

  • Personality disorders neurotic disorders and stress-induced disorders

  • Basics of psychiatric disorders
  • Drug therapy and other biological treatments in psychiatry
  • Acute conditions in psychiatry and their therapeutic influence
  • Mental disorders in the puerperium
  • Psychopharmaceuticals in pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Hybrid form of teaching - a combination of face-to-face and online teaching.

The first and last lectures take place face-to-face on Wednesday 21 February and 4 March 2024 from 12:00-2:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Psychiatric Clinic of the FN Brno Bohunice, building G, 2nd floor.

The 2nd - 6th weeks are taught online in the form of self-study according to the Interactive curriculum, published in IS MUNI.
