Course objectives
Main objectives can be summarized as follows: to learn the history of French literature of the given period; to define mains elements of differentiate individual literary styles; to illustrate the theory by means of texts. At the end of this course, students should be able to differentiate individual literary styles of the given period, categorise them chronologically and compare them reciprocally.
Syllabus
  • 1. Beginnings of French literature. 2. French medieval literature. 3. Specific features of the era of Renaissance and humanism in France. 4. Literary tendencies before the era of classicism.

Type of classwork: lecture. Workshop Ending: colloquium. Requirements for ending: test (as a successful test is considered one with at least 70 % right answers).
