Course objectives
Main objectives can be summarized as follows: to learn the history of French literature of the given period; to define mains elements of differentiate individual literary styles; to illustrate the theory by means of texts. At the end of this course, students should be able to differentiate individual literary styles of the given period, categorise them chronologically and compare them reciprocally.

  • 1. Literature of the turn of 19th and 20th century. 2. The novel between the two wars. 3. The era after the Second world war. 4. The New novel and literature of the second half of 20th century. 5. Contemporary French literature.

Type of classwork: lecture. Workshop Ending: examination. Requirements for ending: test (as a successful test is considered one with at least 70 % right answers) and oral examination.
