Course objectives
After successful completion of this course the student will - be familiar with basic terminology related to the field of speech therapy - acquire knowledge of etiology and symptomatology of various types of communication disorders - focus on the system of care for people with communication disorders.
Syllabus
  • Speech therapy – subject, basic tasks, its position in the system of science Communication, communication process Communication disorder - definition, classification Categories of communication disorder – definition, etiology, symptomatology, diagnostics and therapy. Organization of speech therapy intervention – speech therapist, speech therapist assistant Education of children and pupils with communication disorders.
