Course objectives
The aim of the subject - to acquaint with general methodological approaches of social geography (system and synergetic aproaches), to gain basical knowledge about the geographical problems of transportation, tourism and trade and services.
Syllabus
  • 1. The general methods used in social geography
  • The system approach in geography, the cohesion and comlexity of natural, economic and social components of geography
  • Synergetics and the comprehension of the actual social and economic development of the Worl
  • The theory of regionalization, types of socioeconomic regions
  • 2. The geography of transportation and communications as an antonomous science branch
  • The determination, evolution and actual signification of the branch; the factors of the localization of transportation
  • The basical notions, characteristics and classifications of transporation
  • The examples of the ivestigation in the geography of transporation and communication (the optimalůization of transport net, prognosis, traffic volume and transfer of persons, loads and informations)
  • The geographical characterization of particular kinds of transporation, their compound, signification, main world traces and nodes
  • The evolution of the systems of communication on the Earth, the signifiaction and perspectives of development of this branch of information revolution, the structural possibilities of spreading of knowledge, informations and inovations
  • 3. The geography of recreation and travel movement as an antonomous science branch
  • The determination of the branch, the priciples of uprising of recreation and travel movement, basical notions and characteristics
  • The natural and social conditions for recreation and travel movement, main world regions of recreation and travel movement
  • The geographical research of recreation and travel movement
  • 4. The geography of trade and services as an antonomous science branch
  • The theory of markit cenres
  • The international target, main targit flows and regions of the World
