- Course objectives
- The goal is synthesis of the knowledge of morphology by a choice of chapters that make problems for student. At the end of the course students should be able to: compare sentences in terms of grammar and meaning; correct mistakes in sentences; provide explanations and examples of their own; analyze stretches of language and justify choices of structures, and identify the speaker's attitudes and intentions.
- Syllabus
- 1. Determinants: articles, dependent pronouns. 2. Joinability of determinants. 3. The position and function of determinants in a sentence. 4. Adjective, its position, function of attributes. 5. Present participle as a verb form, as a verb adjective (unity). 6. Unity of past participle and subject. 7. Unity with direct object (in relative clauses, in reflexive verbs, special cases of unity).
