Course objectives
The target of the workshop is to introduce students with non-European music cultures, with different musical thinking and with various musical systems to such an extent, that the understanding of musical performances could enrich their future musically-pedagogical practice, in which they would be able to use gained knowledge according to RVP – especially at the cross-cutting theme Multicultural education. We will focus to selected musical regions according to the context of original culture with the emphasis to the difference at musical thinking and aesthetic criteria. The part of the workshop are listeting analysis.

  • 1.Etnomusicology, its matter, history, Czech ethnomusicology. 2.View of the cultural regions: Australia. America. Africa. Asia: Chinese cultural circle/region (China, Japan, Korea). Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam). Indian cultural circle/region, Tibet and central Asia. Arabic cultural circle/region. 3.The tectonics and the kinetics at the music 4.Non-European inspiration at the music of Euroamerican civilization. Acculturation. 5.Didactics of the ethnical music.
