SZ3BP_1AB1 English for Technology Teachers A
A pass in SZ3BP_1AB1. The intermediate student can understand the main points of spoken or written input on familiar topics, e.g. work, school, leisure, etc., including special discussions in his/her field of specialisation, can produce simple connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest. The student can briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to read and interpret short texts related to their field of study, give a short oral presentation on the subject of his/her study with appropriate B1 vocabulary and grammar range. In order to be credited, the student must submit all set home assignments, give in-class oral presentation/interview, and succeed (65% pass) in the final B1 credit test (vocabulary, grammar).

  • Předmět je nyní průběžně inovován v období řešení projektu (2011-2013) > CZ.1.07/2.2.00/15.0205 "Inovace akreditovaného bakalářského studijního oboru Učitelství praktického vyučování".
  • Non-verbal communicatin.Importance of body language. Current problems in schools (bullying, truancy, addictions). Teachers and their job. Applying for a job. Letter of application. CV. Job interview. Language of interviews, body language.

seminar (practical language lessons, group discussions, pyramide discussions, reading and speaking, presentations, written home assignments)
Assessment methods
Examination requirements: active participation in seminars, attendance (2 absences admitted), preparation for each seminar, oral and written tasks, mid-term test -(grammar + vocabulary), final credit test (listening, reading, grammar, vocabulary, passmark - 65%) The student who has not completed continuous assessment and all the requirements (including active participation) during the particular semester cannot be credited!
