- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is extend competence in research in leisure, particularly in the use of specific research qualitative and quantitative research strategies appropriate to the area of leisure. Is assumed an expanded orientation in historical concept of leisure, current trends, theories, and research strategies used in the leisure.
- Syllabus
- Courses themes, areas for examination: • Human, society and education in leisure. Conception and function of leisure. • Typology of leisure activities in relationship with age, gender, education, locality and other variables. • Leisure activities, contentual fill, clasification, significance, methodes and forms of work.
- Educational system of E. T. Seton, R. S. S. Baden Powell, K. Hahn, A. B. Svojsík, Jaroslav Foglar.
- Origin and significance of organized activity in leisure (YMCA, YWCA, Sokol, scouting, League of forest wisdom, Czech capming union etc.).
- Definition of games and their atributes, educational significance of games. Why the (children) humans play? Theories of games, their segmentation. History of games, metamorphosis of functions, motives, attitudes and aims of games in single develop ethapes of pedagogic. How to create and change the games. Games developing trains of thoughts, beforeall divergent and lateral thinking. Danger of gambling (socalled gamblers games), Socalled longterm games (e.g. all camp, allyear) when working with stable collectives.
- Associations and organisations caring for freetime education in the Czech Republic. Short historical view and evaluation of organized activity after the year 1948.
- Overview of associations and organisations caring for leisure education in chosen european countries.
- Legal rules, laws, ordinances and norms for work with children and youth and for organising various actions.
- K. Hahn and pedagogic of experience, conception of experience theraphy.
- The concept of research projects in the sphere of leisure. Basic knowledge of creating and implementing projects, developing own (research) project from choosing a topic, problem formulation, selection tools for its processing into final written form.
- Educational projects and their development, strategic planning, funding (grants, sponsors - their selection, justification of projects), design, concept design, creation of project (setting goals, sub-steps of the economic, technical, staffing, promotion, various stages of implementation).
