- Course objectives
- In this class, students will develop their speaking and listening skills. We will spend most of our time engaged in discussion, and students will expand their vocabulary and skills using complex structures by actually using the language.
- Learning outcomes
- Students will be able to actively participate in discussions dealing with a range of topics, start a conversation, and ask additional questions. They should feel more confident about their own oral performance in English.
- Syllabus
- The course will cover various areas of spoken discourse on a range of topics. Students are expected to come to each class ready to speak.

- Teaching methods
- The methods used in teaching are mainly different types of discussion (pair, group, class), reading, listening and presenting.
- Assessment methods
- Attendance is required (4 out of 6 classes) since it is impossible to make up for a missed discussion. Regarding class contribution, students should participate positively in group and class discussions, and not only when called upon. Students are also required to give a brief oral presentation to the whole class. During the semester, students are encouraged to consider whether they could use or adapt the activities for their own teaching.
