Prerequisites
The aim of the course is to acquire basic knowledge and skills of the following thematic areas of cartography: General principles of thematic maps. Contents maps. Map composition - compositional elements. Legend maps - the process and principles of the legend. Cartographic expression means. Raster and color in the thematic content. Theory points and cartodiagram character. Evaluation of thematic maps. Maps for teaching geography.

Course objectives
The goal is to acquire basic knowledge and skills in the field of thematic cartography. Apply the general principles of creating thematic maps on concrete examples. Process mapping composition. Create a cartogram and cartodiagram. Create maps for teaching geography.
