- Course objectives
- First Aid is a set of measures that can be used to assist in the immediate emergence of health threats.
The goal of the course is to acquaint the course participants with individual states threatening the health and life of patients/clients and with the principles of providing emergency first aid. - Learning outcomes
- At the end of this course the student will be able to:
- Theoretically and practically operate the first aid
- To respond to crises
- To provide adequate first aid
- To ensure their safety and be aware of the risks associated with the provision of FA
The graduate will be able to name the risks associated with providing first aid and enumerate life-saving operations. Furthermore, to describe the possibilities of distinction of unconsciousness with preserved life functions and the state when it is necessary to initiate cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The graduate will be able to practically perform resuscitation of an adult, child, and infant, to perform a bleeding arrest, to recognize from the mechanism of injury the severity of possible damage to the organism and to respond adequately. The graduate will be able to treat typical injuries of the locomotor apparatus, to treat damage to the body by heat and cold and to expel foreign bodies during its aspiration by a technique dependent on the age of the patient/client. - Syllabus
