Course objectives
Students deepen their knowledge of the Practical Language Course 1 (RJ2010), improve their oral and written expression, grammar and communication skills.

Students are obliged to read and listen to Russian texts and work with the Russian Internet.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course the students will be able:
to conversate on the topics discussed;
to express their views using a new lexicon;
to use grammatical and stylistic means correctly;
to improve in written and oral speech;
to use correctly intonation constructions.
Syllabus
  • 1. School system in the Czech Republic and Russia. Which system would I prefer? Vocabulary on "School, study".
  • 2. Post-secondary education in the Czech Republic and Russia. What should I change to university? Practice the use of the lexical-semantic group "znanije - poznanije".
  • 3. Teacher. My ideas about the future profession of a teacher. Practice the use of the Russian verb "učiť" and its derivatives. The lexical-semantic group "učitel - pedagog - vospitatel".
  • 4. Science and research. Presentation of the diploma thesis.
  • 5. What books I like to read. My favorite Russian book.
  • 6. Internet and Runet. Social networks: facebook, vkontakte, twitter, linkedin and more.
  • 7. What music do I listen to? Practicing the use of the verb "to hear" and its derivatives.
  • 8. What series do I watch? My favorite movie. Film festivals.
  • 9. Visit the gallery. Practice using the Russian word "kartina" within the theme.
  • 10. Orientation in the city. Modern buildings and ancient monuments.
  • 11. Christmas and New Year in Russia and the Czech Republic.
  • 12. Revision.

Teaching methods
Seminar, class discussion on given topics, homework, group projects within the areas discussed, reading and listening of Russian texts.
Assessment methods
The credit requirements: 1. regular assessment and doing the required home assignments. 2. written essay on the given topic (student must hand in it during the last study week at the latest).
