Course objectives
Annotation: The aim of this subject is to acquire the knowledges about the subject arranged transport systems and traffic education at the college level. The emphasis is on the logical structure of this discipline and to acquire knowledge and skills needed to teach courses focused on transportation. Simultaneously, the course focuses on primary prevention in the field of transport to secondary schools. For these reasons, there are the discussions included, simple case studies, practice on traffic playground etc. The objectives: Knowledge: A comprehensive overview of knowledge about the topic of transport in relation to road safety education and an emphasis on the relationship of the subject matter to human health, experience, nature, home, technology, etc. Skills: Being able to characterize the problems of the current traffic and transportation systems in connection with the human factor, technical condition of roads and the technical condition of vehicles. Conducted sufficient analysis of specific risk factors in different types of transport. Knowing the possibilities of prevention in the field of transport and related subject matter for practical applications. You can create a simple practical suggestions for teaching subjects in secondary schools focused on traffic or prevention in this area. Attitude: To learn the value of health education, prevention of injuries and deaths on the roads. Deepen the values of ethical behavior and responsibility towards themselves and others. Further deepen the values to environmental protection.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students should know and be able to:
- Basic information about traffic in the context of traffic education not only at secondary schools.
- Identify risk factors in transport related to the subject of instruction.
- Orient in the prevention of risky behavior in transport. apply this topic adequately in its teaching, especially in subjects with transport problems
Syllabus
  • The syllabus of the lectures (over weeks): I. The means of transport. 1. History and present road passenger and freight traffic. 2. The traffic accidents and education in relation to the protection of health and the prevention of accidents. 3. Risk of the traffic behavior (risk factors projective factors). 4. Risk behavior and traffic accidents of children and youth. II. The Traffic Education. 1. National road safety strategy. Present 2nd traffic education in relation to the protection of health and the prevention of accidents. 3. Problems of safety on roads in selected subjects (RVP secondary schools). 4. Transportation in various selected SEP. 5. Prevention of transport aimed at secondary school students. 6. Minimum preventive program. Characterization and utilization of the transport field. 7. The network of the cooperating entities to prevent the transport.
  • The syllabus exercises (after weeks): The exercises are aimed at the solving problems for individual lectures: I. Traffic. 1. The history and the present of road passenger and freight traffic. 2. The traffic accidents and the factors affecting the formation of an accident. 3. The risk of the traffic behavior (the risk factors, the projective factors). 4. The risk behavior and traffic accidents of children and youth. II. The traffic education. 1. The National strategy of the road safety. 2. The present of the traffic education in relationship with the protection of health and the prevention of accidents. 3. Problems of safety on the roads in selected subjects (RVP secondary schools). 4. Transportation in various selected SEP.
