Course objectives
The goal of course is fundamental knowledge foundation of medical plants action on organisms, on human body especially. The most important will be also attitude towards drug addition including smoking and coffe drinking.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students should know and be able to:
- Understand and explain the basic concepts related to the applicability of medicinal plants and the protection of health not only in their application but also in everyday life;
- Can use the information gathered for individual thinking about the function of medicinal plants in human life;
- can make reasoned decisions based on acquired knowledge or medicinal plant skills;
- Based on acquired knowledge, it will derive appropriate risks associated with the use of medicinal plants, such as coffee, tea, etc., depending on the situation;
- interprets the health characteristics of medicinal herbs in the educational process.
Syllabus
  • Phytotherapy. History of phytotherapy. Advantages and disadvantages of herbal medicine. The active substance. Plant determination of the active substances, including examples. The using of medicinal plants. Abuse of medicinal plants.
