Course objectives
The course follows lectures from older French literature and literature from 17th to 19th century. century. The complex of these coursees provides students with a comprehensive overview of the development of poetry, prose and theater work in the French environment from the beginning to the present. The lecture French Literature of 20th Century presents the literary trends prevailing in France since the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries to the tendency here at the beginning of the 21st century. The lectures include their characteristics, presentation of the contemporary context and important authors and their basic works. This course is taught in conjunction with a seminar, which is a practical supplement.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, students should be able: to learn the history of French literature of the given period; to define mains elements of differentiate individual literary styles; to illustrate the theory by means of texts; differentiate individual literary styles of the given period; to categorise them chronologically and compare them reciprocally. It is also assumed ability to orient in záklandích works of French literature of the 20th and 21th century.
