Course objectives
The students will be able to use the knowledge and skills in the development of physical skills of younger school-aged children.
Learning outcomes
The students will be able to understand, explain and use the basic knowledge of physical education in the area of music and physical education, rhythmic gymnastics, dance and fitness gymnastics.
Syllabus
  • 1 Basic concepts associated with music and rhythmic accompaniment, dance and apparatus, names of dances, basic relationships between music and movement. Basics of safety and hygiene in rhythmic and fitness gymnastics.
  • 2 Perception and experiencing of rhythm, movement of the body and its parts in specific exercises, changes in positions, tempo and rhythm variations.
  • 3 – 4 Exercises with apparatus (rope, ball, hoop) with musical accompaniment.
  • 5 – 6 Basic dance steps and their sequences in specific folk and social dances.
  • 7 – 8 Development of a gymnastic performance
  • 9 – 11 Rhythmic fitness exercises focused on muscle strengthening and stretching.
  • 12 Summary of the learning content, achievement of credit requirements

Assessment methods
Active participation in lessons; knowledge of basic dance steps; short individual demonstration of a folk dance including preparation; demonstration of exercises with rope; development of a short gymnastic performance with apparatus or equipment.
