Course objectives
In their practice, social educators meet with various groups of socially disadvantaged people seeking change. Abroad, this social phenomenon is most commonly referred to as social change. From the point of view of the profession of a social pedagogue, it is important to understand this social phenomenon and to be able to participate in it. Social change can be achieved through social action. And theater can be a powerful tool in encouraging social action through the process of the group and group learning.
Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes:
• Describe the process of social change in the selected example;
• to interpret the process of social change in the context of social pedagogy as a scientific discipline;
• to evaluate the contribution of the discussed authors who deal with social change processes in society in relation to the field of social pedagogy and its current practice;
• Define the concept of applied drama and theater;
• Describe different forms of theater leading to social action;
• Explain their own attitudes and proposals for solutions to the theatrical educational activities of socially disadvantaged groups.
