Course objectives
The subject of Practical Activities focuses on the development of students' knowledge and skills in the field of work with natural and technical materials, as well as the possibility of using construction and electrotechnical kits and computer technology in pre-school education. In the seminar the students will get acquainted with the current concept in the field of work with materials, working tools and tools used in working with children of preschool age and apply this knowledge in the realization of themes from natural and technical materials. They will acquire the principles of spontaneous and controlled activities in the area of work with construction and electrotechnical kits and the selection of suitable multimedia applications in the pedagogical work of pre-school education.
Learning outcomes
Students:
1. Select and apply a multimedia software application in pre-school education.
2. They will master the basic techniques of working with paper, natural and technical materials.
3. They will master the basic techniques of working with textile materials.
4. Design and describe the tools and tools used to work with natural and technical materials.
5. Create a magazine of ideas from natural and technical materials.
6. Design and define appropriate types of construction and electrotechnical kits suitable for pre-school education.
Syllabus
  • Seminar Sylabus.
  • Weeks 1 and 2: Principles of safe working with working tools and tools used in pre-school education.
  • 3rd and 4th week: Technology of working with natural and technical materials.
  • Weeks 5 and 6: Technology of paper work and non-traditional materials.
  • 7th and 8th week: Ideas from technical materials - distribution of small technical material, overview of used tools and work tools, work with technical material - cutting, cutting, bending.
  • 9th and 10th week: Construction of construction kits - overview of assembly and electrotechnical kits, work according to instructions and diagram, problem solving.
  • 11th and 12th week: Multimedia programs and interactive materials in teaching in kindergartens, Internet portals.

Practical excercises.
Assessment methods
The student will create a magazine of natural and technical materials, develop methodological sheets for applications of suitable types of building blocks, design software support for PC work and develop a thematically oriented teaching project they defend.
