The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The goal of the course is to improve communication competences in French, a more effective formulation of one's needs, communicating while respecting others, training of techniques of listening and empathic conversation.
Learning outcomes
After completion of the course, the student will be able to: - understand the basics of non-violent communication; - better articulate one's emotions and needs in French; - react in a more effective, respecting manner in French during unpleasant or conflict situations; - listen to oneself and to others, be attentive to the needs of oneself and of others; - communication in French in respect and cooperation.
Syllabus
  • 1. Definition and history of NVC (Non violent communication). 2. Relational violence and oneself. 3. Sensations, emotions, specific vocabulary 4. Identification and expression of emotions. 5. Listening and discussions of the implicit part of the verbalization. 6. The needs: identification and links to the emotions. 7. Formulation of needs and emotions. 8. Verbalization. 9. Four types of behavior: manipulation / passivity / aggressiveness / assertiveness. 10. Role play. 11. Conflicts et self-confidence. 12. Conclusion / feedback.
