Course objectives
The course provides students with a comprehensive view of knowledge about the meaning, functions and classification of business in all major contexts. Development trends in trade are clarified. Attention is paid to the issue of assortment and retail units within the retail network and outside the network of stores. The creation of retail prices, the importance and use of discounts, the nature of the payment system is explained. The individual wholesale and retail operations taking place in business units, the issue of business logistics in the context of the logistics chain and the layout of the store with regard to the shopping environment and atmosphere are analyzed.

Knowledge: theoretical anchoring of individual areas of trade and business entrepreneurship
Skills: practical application of theoretical approaches in business
Attitudes: distinguish between different forms of business activities associated with different forms of business units in making informed business decisions
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to define the basic concepts and interrelationships in trade and business with emphasis on the classification of goods, the structure of the business range, business categories, systematization of business units, wholesale and retail operations and will be able to aplly these information at practical examples.
