Course objectives
The course expands knowledge and skills in art education with a focus on inclusive pedagogy, individualizing educational approaches, and working with diversity in a variety of social and educational contexts. It emphasises the promotion of pupils' creative self-fulfilment, the development of inclusion and the strengthening of class cohesion through art activities that promote communication, cooperation and mutual respect among pupils while contributing to a positive classroom climate. The goal of the course is to provide students with a space for personal experience of art activities in a group setting and to support their readiness to create a creative, safe and accepting environment in their future teaching practice. The course combines theoretical foundations with practical skills in art making, perception and sharing, with reflection on one's own experiences playing a significant role as a means to a deeper understanding of the needs of future learners.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to: - share their own artistic experiences in a learning group; - respond to the work of others in a form of respectful feedback that encourages open communication, fosters collaboration and contributes to the meaningful development of artistic ability and self-expression; - reflect on how these experiences contribute to the development of his/her pedagogical sensitivity to the individual needs of students, understanding of group dynamics, appreciation of the diversity of artistic expression, and ability to create a safe, supportive, and creative environment that is inclusive of the differences and needs of all group members.
Syllabus
Practical art activities promoting communication, cooperation, respect, inclusion and diversity in the group. Reflection on personal art experiences and their importance for developing pedagogical sensitivity and creating a positive climate.
