Course objectives
After completing the discipline, the student:
• Understands the contents taught - individual approach to pupils in teaching mathematics, differentiated teaching of mathematics, education of gifted pupils, education of pupils with specific learning disorders, concept-forming process of students in the teaching of arithmetic, algebra and geometry.
• Can set lesson objectives and understands how to follow them in the lesson fulfillment.
• Orients himself in classical and alternative approaches to mathematics education.
• Reflects knowledge from practice and connects it with mathematical and didactic knowledge.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student is able to:
• Choose math problems that are adequate to the student's needs.
• To solve these problems with methods corresponding to the pupil's year and his mathematical skills abilities.
• Reflect knowledge from practice and relate it to theoretical mathematics didactic knowledge.
• Respect the student's cognitive process according to recognized pedagogical and psychological a didactic theories.
• To orient oneself in classical and alternative approaches to mathematics education.
• Establish the objectives of the mathematics lesson.
Syllabus
  • Mathematics in the primary school curriculum. Individual approach to students, hobby activity in mathematics (1 hour).
  • Education of pupils with specific educational needs. Education of students with learning disabilities, education of gifted students, care of students with problems in mathematics. (2 throw.).
  • Mathematical competitions, hobbies (1 hour).
  • Alternative educational streams in mathematics (1 hour).

Assessment methods
The following will be evaluated:
• Continuous active work.
• Solving assigned tasks.
• Creating a portfolio: Case studies of gifted students, students with learning disabilities. Exemplary solving a mathematical problem by means of pupils of different grades.
