Course objectives
Students are acquainted with art mediation and artwork activating the gallery. They are informed about the foundations of the history of the work of museums and galleries, as well as the current mission and gallery typology. They are prepared for active youth work before the artwork. Students are confronted with definitions and terminology and learn about the main developments in art theory.
Learning outcomes
The student acquires knowledge of the nature of the field, knows basic terminology, personalities, methodological concepts and development stages of art theory. At the end of the course the student is able to create and make a gallery animation in front of artworks and is acquainted with the basics of art galleries and art museums.

  • • history and present of art and gallery museums • Galleries animation, animator and lecturer • spoken speech in the gallery and creation of written interactive materials • work for the public in foreign and Czech galleries • principles of teamwork in the museum and gallery • Promotion of the exhibition, information materials for visitors
