Course objectives
The aim of this course is to introduce students with problems of special diagnostics of pupils with special educational needs. Outcomes:at the end of the course students should be able to understand and explain the basic information of the diagnostics, make deductions based on acquired knowledge of the assessment methods.
Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes of the course: The student is able to understand the complex diagnostic procedures in order to interpret the results well.

1. The concept, definition and diagnosis of the subject in a special pedagogy 2. The basic categories of diagnostic approaches in special pedagogy 3. Specifical educational assessment 4. Diagnosis in the preschool age 5. Diagnosis of maturity and readiness for the start of compulsory schooling 6. Tasks during the school age 7. Diagnosis and the professional orientation 9. Main tasks during adulthood 10. Specific diagnostic procedrures in various age groups 11. Classification of diagnostic methods 12. Characteristics of clinical methods 13. Special methods 14. The main areas of diagnostics
