Course objectives
This course will examine theories and techniques for teaching English as a foreign language to learners with specific learning disabilities. Information, resources and examples of teaching methods used in the United States will be provided. Students will discuss various theories and methods that are used for teaching learners with SLD and learn how to develop materials and activities.
Syllabus
  • COURSE OBJECTIVES 1. To provide an overview of educational theories and teaching methods 2. To develop an accessible resource base 3. To give students an opportunity to synthesize American and Czech practices in working with this specific population of learners 4. To allow students to use English communication in one-to-one, small group and whole class situations while discussing pedagogical practices.
