- Course objectives
- The aim of the subject is to help students master methods of literary studies and offer them an insight into the principles of the literary science. The output of the seminar is a written assignment: a critical essay of about 10 pages. Students focus on an analysis of a piece of contemporary prose of their own choice. First they present their analysis orally in the seminar, at the end of the term they hand in a written assignment. Students will further develop their literary knowledge and interpretational skills with the aim to communicate with a literary work more efficiently.

- Teaching methods
- In the form of a seminar (interpretations and analysis of selected works), students will get a deeper insight into poetics of a literary work. They will further develop their literary knowledge and interpretational skills with the aim to communicate with a literary work more efficiently. They will creatively use their knowledge gained not only in contact classes but also in their individual study of recommended literature which they will be able to discuss regularly with their teacher. The main method of teaching is a seminar.
