Course objectives
The course objective is to provide students with a basic outline of the history of Czech theatre and its prominent playwrights after 1945. Students get a deeper insight into literary trends and movements of Czech drama of the period in question. They are able to identify and analyze writing styles of significant authors. They will further develop their literary knowledge and interpretational skills in order to communicate with a literary work (drama) more effectively.

Teaching methods
Type of course: lecture. Methods: presentations, class and group discussions. Students will creatively use their knowledge gained not only in contact classes but also in their independent work with recommended literature which they will be able to consult regularly with the teacher.
Assessment methods
The lecture is completed with a credit. Credit requirements: students are required to participate in the lectures and be able to review the recommended literature.
