Course objectives
Main ohjectives can be summarized as follows: to elaborate topics from educational psychology in education and teaching practice; to learn the history, current theories and methods of educational psychology in education and teaching practice; to analyze simple problems of student and teachers in education (individual projects, papers); make deductions based on acquired knowledge; to understand basic terms and theories.

  • 1. Introduction to psychology in education and teaching practice.
  • 2. History of psychology in education and teaching practice.
  • 3. Current theoretical approaches and trends - eduacational psychology in education and teaching practice.
  • 4. Psychological methods in school practice (individual and group evaluation and assesment).
  • 5. Psychological research and education and teaching practice.
  • 6. Learning. Types. Theories. Overlearning. Transfer and interference.
  • 7. Results of learning (knowledge, skills and routines; competencies).
  • 8. Teaching practice from the psychological perspective.
  • 9. Academic achievment and failure.
  • 10. Examination, assesment and testing of students.
  • 11. Parenting styles.
  • 12. Personality of a current-school-pupil.
  • 13. Students (social) environment and its consequentions.
  • 14. Teacher in eduaction (personality, professional development, stress management etc.).
  • 15. Teacher and student relationships in eduacetion.
  • 16. Classroom climate and school climate.
  • 17. Misbehaviour and behavioral disorders in school practice.
