Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to: - describe and explain the structure and function of human body; to name; - describe and explain the basic physico-chemical processes occurring in the human body and give examples of digestive processes; - describe the breathing movements - differences in the type of breathing in children, men, women;
Syllabus
  • Bacics of Ergonomics Practise School environment effect on the health of pupils. School furniture – backbone abnormal curvatores, visual handicaps – basic examinational methods. Specific needs of a left-handed child. Footwear effect on arch – arch examination. Summary of plants causing allergy and poisonous plants that are not supposed to be cultivated in classes. Textiles causing allergy, allergens in food. Biology of Man Selected Practise The factors influencing the kinetics of enzymatic reaction. Semi-quantitative methods of determining the sugar in urine. Receptors – sense of taste, eyesight, sense of hearing – examines. Laterality tests. How to read in EKG and EEG? Nerve reflexes. Mental performance tests.

Teaching methods
Teaching is through practical exercises involving working with protocols and practical tasks. Students also performed some model experiments demonstrate the function of individual systems or organs of the body.
Assessment methods
Final assessment is a written test of 30 items assessed a single point. For successful completion of this course is necessary to reach 25 points.
