Course objectives
This course objective is to introduce the variants of didactic approach to the concept of the intercultural communicative competence in foreign language teaching. Theoretical base is represented by the following: defining terminology of the intercultural communicative competence, the development of the concept, current influetial models of the intercultural communicative competence and their components (i.e. on general level of the communicative and intercultural competence, and specifically regarding the foreign language communicative competence).
Syllabus
  • The core of the course is the reflection of the models of the intercultural communicative competence as it is reflected in the categories of objectives, content and didactic means in foreign language teaching. Attention will also be paid to the questions related to the evaluation of the development of the concept of the intercultural communicative competence (ICC) to which little attention has been paid so far (both generally and in school education).
