Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to understand and explain all periods of the Czech- Slovak relationships. Moritoring of the relations between both nations looks for positive viewpoints, but it doesnt obstruct the opposite point of view. The interpretation of mutual relations is given against background of historical facts of both nations lives.
Syllabus
  • The idea of political "Czechoslovac nation". Proclamation of federal state. The Slovakias integration to federal republic. The industrialization of Slovakia. From the politics of autonomy till the break up of 1st Czechosovakia. Czechs and Slovaks during the world war II. Post-war asymmetrical model of organization of the state. The way to the federal state. The rise of independent Czech and Slovak Republic.
