- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to understand the basic features of Russian childrens literature; to learn the history of Russian childrens literature of 20th century; to understand the relations between childrens literature, art and music and to read the main representatives of Russian childrens literature.

- 1. The periodization of Russian childrens literature (20th-21st century)
- 2. The didactic and aesthetic functions of childrens literature
- 3. The "Silver age" in Russian childrens literature
- 4. M. Gorky and the "new age" in Russian childrens literature
- 5. Russian childrens literature in emigration (Chernyj, A. Tolstoy)
- 6. Russian childrens literature (50th-60th years). Blaginina, Michalkow, Zahoder, Tokmakova
- 7. The prosa for children (Nosov, Uspensky, Dragunsky, Koval, Pogodin)
- 8. Russian childrens literature in the post-Soviet era (Emec, Oster, Petrushevskaya)
